Just before Christmas 2023, I found I had Breast Cancer – chocolates would have been preferable! So, 2024 began with a mastectomy, and removal of lymph nodes. The nursing was brilliant, but I certainly needed support, guidance, and understanding. I found out about Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support (ALCS), and through this wonderfully supportive group, I was able to have treatment on my scar, learnt about cold water swimming in the sea at Lyme Regis, and met others going through Cancer.
At Christmas 2025, my husband, Paul, presented me with - A Wing-Walking experience! OMG! I had mentioned that I’d like to do one - sometime in the future. Also, I used to Sky-Dive, free-falling from great heights. But for my final 2 jumps (after 90+ successful ones!), I’d had to use my Reserve parachute – quite scary!
So, a Wing-Walk might also prove to be ‘quite scary’, and I’d like to do it for a very worthy cause. Clearly, there are charities that support the research into Cancer, but it’s the ‘During & After’ that affects so many individuals – men and women. I’d like to help ALCS continue their wonderful work to help those going through the Big C.
Therefore, I’m asking if you would sponsor me to Wing-Walk with 'AeroSuperBatics', at Compton Abbas Airfield, Dorset, to raise funds for Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support (ALCS).
Thankyou! Izzy
