JAMH delivers counselling and therapy to those whose mental health has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, including those with existing conditions. Our support includes:
 • A helpline, responding to calls from those anxious, stressed or depressed due to the coronavirus crisis;
 • Responding to calls with an appropriately qualified individual undertaking triage and then offering the appropriate level of support;
 • Ensuring potential clients are aware of support available with advertising in local, and social, media, which also includes details of wider support available;
 • Delivery of counselling or therapy sessions over Zoom, normally up to 10 sessions but longer where required. If a client wishes, we will undertake an assessment with them and help them put together a personal action plan to guide them through the crisis;
 • Online engagement including arts, craft and music activities with art therapists supporting group delivery to improve a sense of peer linkage;
 • An online mental health support group for women who are pregnant or have given birth during lockdown including art and relaxation Zooms for mums.

Beneficiaries will be those in the Greater Manchester Jewish community most vulnerable to the mental health effects of lockdown and COVID-19 and who are less likely to access help through other means due to religious and cultural factors. This could be those with an existing mental health diagnosis or not.

 The project will:
 • Improve the mental health and wellbeing of those in the Jewish community most vulnerable to the mental health effects of lockdown and COVID-19 and who are less likely to access help through other means due to religious and cultural factors;
 • Reduce fear, anxiety, stress and isolation and improve a sense of cohesion and hope for people living under the conditions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic;
 • Increase people's confidence in working towards enhanced wellbeing;
 • Improve positive outcomes for people through professional support on specific cases, utilising shared expertise.
