I'm gearing up to lace up my running shoes for a cause very close to my heart: Hug in a Bag. I'll be taking on the challenge of the Great North Run, a half marathon stretching 13.1 miles, with every step dedicated to spreading warmth, comfort, and support.

So, why am I putting myself through this exhilarating (and let's face it, slightly daunting) journey? It all comes down to the incredible work of Hug in a Bag and the vital impact they have on those facing challenging times.

Hug in a Bag is more than just a charity to me; it's a beacon of hope for individuals and families navigating the stormy seas of illness and adversity. Their mission to provide care packages filled with essentials and heartfelt tokens of love to cancer patients undergoing treatment is both inspiring and essential. These bags aren't just filled with items; they're overflowing with compassion, understanding, and a reminder that no one walks alone in their battle against illness.

As many people already know my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, luckily she's has been given the all clear and beaten cancer for the second time!

As I prepare to tackle each mile of the Great North Run, I'm driven by the thought of the smiles these care packages bring, the warmth they provide on the coldest of days, and the hope they ignite in the darkest of times. Every stride I take is a step towards ensuring that Hug in a Bag can continue their incredible work, reaching even more individuals in need of a comforting embrace.

Whether you can spare a few pennies or simply share my journey with your friends and family, every gesture counts and brings us closer to our shared goal of spreading love and light to those who need it most.

Thank you for being a part of my journey and for helping me make a difference.
