This will challenge me at every stage, from training, losing weight and mentally preparing myself for what will be my biggest and first endurance test.  Even without the 100k trek, I’m not a lover of sand; my favourite temperature is around 20 degrees both day and night; I like my own bed with my own pillow, a shower in the morning and access to a toilet – these facilities will not be available.

There has been poverty and always will, however the increase of individuals living in abject poverty is increasing.  There is more inequality in income today between the rich and the poor.  Equality of income makes a better society for all of us to live in, as rich people are affected by societal changes too, for example increase in crime rate.

It scares me greatly. So please, will you donate, it doesn’t matter how big or small your donation is, every penny is a penny towards my goal.  As my father used to say “look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves”. 

I am funding this challenge myself, so all donations will go directly to the charity. By supporting this charity you are giving children and families hope; showing that people care and it’s not their fault for the circumstance in which they find themselves. Every family is different and unless you have walked in their footsteps you do not know what barriers, circumstances or events that they have had to endure – you can’t compare your situation to theirs.

Every child deserves a warm home and food in their tummies.  They need your help and support to give them hope and aspirations.  They are our future.
