I’m raising money for Men’s Minds Matter by running the Wirral Marathon and it means a lot to me. I left the Royal Air Force in January last year and found the transition to civilian life tougher than I expected. I didn’t really speak about it at the time, but it did affect me more than I realised. What helped was being honest with my mates instead of keeping it all in. I know I’m not the only one who’s gone through that and lots of lads still struggle in silence. That’s why this cause matters. I want to turn my experience into something positive, raise awareness, and support others going through the same thing. Plus, my best mate Tom ran it last year and I said I could beat his time, so I’ve got that to chase as well. Every mile means something and any support really makes a difference.
