Those who know me well know I like 5 star hotels, Lie-ins, and I hate exercise. I used to say I'm naturally athletic so I don't have do do any exercise!

So what am I doing Trekking up a really big hill - 4500m.

I met Cherrie Bija who is CEO of faith in famillies charity who invited me to visit the charity to see them in action and I have to say it inspired me to help raise funds. Quite how Cherrie convinced me to climb to a Himalyan Base camp I'm not quite sure but then Cherrie is an inspiring leader and it worked.

So after the howls of laughter from friends and family when I told them I'd accepted this challenge, reality set in and I wondered myself how I would achieve the impossible ( to me).

From zero exercise I started running, I'm talking foregoing lie ins to get up at 6am and run. I started training during Easter 2025 I found myself running 30Km a week by July, and entering my first 10Km race in September 2025. True to form hating every minute of it. My next challenge in training is the dreaded climbing and steps training, I'm questioning my sanity.

The charity does so much for local families and children, I hope my small part in fundraising for them will help.
