Keen for a Half Marathon!

I’m older, wiser, and yet for some reason, have signed up to another long distance run. But I couldn’t think of a charity that I’d rather push the pace for more than KEEN!

KEEN London provides free and highly sought after, one-to-one support at free sports and activity sessions for children (our athletes) with additional needs or disabilities. 

Since my training with KEEN in early 2020, the athletes and other coaches have been an inspiration in terms of positivity, having a can-do attitude and resilience in looking for fun. And if you can’t find the fun you had better go create it!  

At a KEEN session, each athlete is paired with a trained volunteer coach for individual support. This means they benefit from one-to-one attention and care. It also means their parents can leave their children in a secure and safe environment.

Through COVID, activities have moved from inside to outdoors to keep the fun continuing come rain or shine and boy do we stay active through our games and exploring - that’s some of the training done right there for the half marathon!

Now all I have to do is put down the chocolate and don the trainers!
