It's finally caught up with me!
In 2019 I had the singular good luck (?) to win a coveted place in the London Marathon 2020 ballot - CoviD-19 postponement was a great relief, given my inadequate training! 🙂
Now, scarcely better trained and definitely older, I have run out of excuses - at 10.50 this Sunday 3 October I will set off from Blackheath proudly wearing Bib 12545 in Blue wave 17, sustained by raising money for two vital charities - one local, one national, both close to my heart.
The pandemic has brought out the best in our community, with many new wonderful volunteers coming forward to help provide essential support for less able and housebound people, and Kew Neighbourhood Association has had to expand its staffing and infrastructure accordingly.
