As part of my 'Get Fit for Fifty' pledge I will be running (plodding) the Two Castles 10K Run on Sunday 9th June 2019. The run starts at Warwick Castle and finishes at Kenilworth Castle. I am fundraising for Warwickshire Vision Support who provide services for visually impaired people. Warwickshire Vision Support (Warwickshire Association for the Blind) has been supporting visually impaired people across the whole of Warwickshire for over a century.
Today they run: 4 Vision Support (drop-in) centres in Rugby, Nuneaton, Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon; they operate 14 recreational clubs which are run by a strong cohort of dedicated volunteers; they cover 4 Hospital Advice Desks in Rugby, Nuneaton, Warwick and Stratford and provide emotional support to those newly diagnosed with a devastating eye condition; they run a Home Visitor (Befriending) Service to over 90 vulnerable visually impaired people which is supported by over 90 volunteers and they provide an innovative IT Training Programme teaching visually impaired people the accessibility features on smart phones and tablets.
Warwickshire Vision Support is a Local Charity for Local People and needs your support today!
Please sponsor me to run the Two Castles Run in aid of this wonderful charity.
Update - 11th June 2019 - Thank you to everyone online and offline who has sponsored me I really appreciate it. It was a warm morning considering the weather the day before and yet any warmer would have made for challenging running conditions. I completed the run in 1 hour and 3 minutes so am pleased with that. Once again thank you. Louise
