There are around 30,000 people in Warwickshire who experience sight loss and Warwickshire Viaion Support is the local Charity who provide support and rehab services for the County. Like many local chrarities, WVS relies heavily on it's volunteers and fundraising to carry out the work that they do.
I have been involved with WVS for over 30 years, and they have helped and supported me as a visually impaired person. WVS have a 111 year history of supporting people in Warwickshire with sight loss.
I am currently a Trustee of the Charity and want to do a fundraiser to help support the work that they do. I have always enjoyued walking and a walking challange seems the logical thing to do.
For my own fitness reasons, I have done 1 million steps challenges in the last two autumns. I deci;ded that 5 million in a year would be a challenge, but one I think I will manage.
Hello Martyn, after hearing your story during our train journey with Handsome Harper, I see you’re an inspiration to many! It was a pleasure meeting you and swapping stories - all the best, suzi K :)
Well done Martyn great achievement
Finally got round to it.
Day 302 total 4,000,803 I seemt to have taken a long time to get to 4 million steps, I've lost almost 2 months to COVID, so I guess it can't be helped
Martyn-John's fundraising page will be accepting donations for another 60 days.
Good luck Martyn we are sure that you will reach your target. We know how much WVS helps support the needs of the visually impaired. Pauline and John Parker.
