Under the persuasive influence of my best friend's dad, Matt, and perhaps after a drink or two, I have been convinced to join him with a group of an average-age triple mine to partake in a grueling 4-day ride from Paris to Milton Keynes. Dubbed the ‘Ring of Fire’ (I’ll let those with imaginative minds fathom why it’s been given that name), Matt and I along with the rest of the group will be biking for 8 hours a day for 4 days straight to raise money for 3 charities; Cardiac Risk in the Young, Willen Hospice, and Milton Keynes Rugby Union Football Club. CRY is a charity on a mission to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening, and research. Willen Hospice cares for end-of-life patients and their families in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. Finally, MKRUFC gives both adults and children the ability to engage in physical activity, socialise and build lifelong connections through sport. For the next 2 months, we'll be training hard to ensure we can raise as much money as possible for these causes. Please donate and tune in to find out if the saddle cream will be enough to help us survive the Ring of Fire!
