Hello friends,
As you may well know, I often use my birthday as a cheeky excuse to raise money for causes close to my heart. With the 25th of September on the horizon, please consider a cuppa-coffee-equivalent (or much more!) donation to MEP as a birthday gift to me.
After recently making friends with a young Kurdish family who fled Iran less than a month ago, I have come across MEP (Migrant English Project) in Brighton, who are an amazing group of volunteers doing brilliant work in Sussex.
The Migrant English Project:
Provides free and informal English lessons for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants who live in Brighton and Hove.
Provides a welcoming, friendly and safe space where people can meet others and receive support
Provides support, basic advice, referrals and signposting when needed
Provides free lunch & refreshments during the project
They provide an informal space where people can meet others and feel a sense of belonging, after having lost almost everything.
Thank you from me - and on behalf of R, J & their two lovely boys.
