After months of half training, I will be running a DIY half marathon in August for Fences & Frontiers, a charity very close to my heart. Until last December, I was one of those people who hated running (and if I'm honest, runners) but have since undergone something of a Damascene conversion (sorry) and now can't imagine what mornings would look like without hauling myself into slightly ill-fitting trainers and setting off for a tortured jog around Islington.
Please donate if you are able; every little helps, said Tesco.
A little more about Fences below:
Fences & Frontiers exists to make London a more welcoming and inspiring place for refugees and asylum seekers to rebuild their lives. We run a tapestry of cultural, educational and nature-based activities, ranging from coastal walks to arts workshops. We support people living through some of the hardest times in their lives, offering a sense of community, an escape from daily fears, and hope for their future.
