Hey guys! Hope yous are well! Planning on doing the Mourne Wall challenge in aid of Huntington’s disease NI! Our mum passed away from it just over five years ago and I just wanted to raise a bit more awareness to the disease and how it affects certain family’s! Mums dad also passed away from the disease a number of years ago! Huntington’s is an inherited disease with symptoms, usually starting at mid-adulthood, causing a progressive loss of control over thoughts, feelings, behaviour, movement and communication until the person requires 24-hour care.
Every child conceived naturally to a parent with HD has a 50% chance of inheriting the disease. There are over 150 families affected by HD in Northern Ireland and currently no cure. The work Huntington’s NI do and support they gave us when mum wasn’t well was second to none and they deserve all the support they can get especially in these uncertain times! So partly due to too much time on my hands in lockdown and to try and raise money for a great cause, me and a small group of friends will be taking on the 22 mile Mourne Wall Challenge during a day in July! Any donations at all would be greatly appreciated and hope to see yous out and about soon 🙌 Thanks Stu!
