NMPAT's premises, in Kettering Road, Northampton, date back to 1877, when it was built as a Public Elementary School.  Over the course of time, the masonry has been continuously exposed to the elements, whilst experiencing minimal maintenance, particularly whilst previously under the care of the Local Authority.  Some of the decorative stonework has begun to decay and the time has come to begin to restore this to arrest further deterioration.  

Initial work is underway, making safe high level stonework, around the perimeter of the building, affecting the stone coping on the building's gable ends.  Initial works include the replacement, remolding and repair of damaged stonework, repointing, and work to chimneys.  This will be a phased restoration, requiring significant financial support, to enable NMPAT to continue to delivery music and performing arts education opportunities, for the children and young people of Northamptonshire, now and for the future.
