About

It's starting to get cold at the moment, isn't it???
Imagine having to sleep outside because you have no other choice and then getting up the next day, after very little sleep, to try and function in day to day life!

On Thursday 25th November, I will be sleeping outside at the Eden project in order to raise awareness and hopefully some funds for St Petrocs - A fantastic cornish charity who work tirelessly to end Homelessness in Cornwall.

Any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated and will go towards to hard work of St Petrocs, who can hopefully get a few more people off the street this winter.

About Eden Sleepout 2021

Rough sleeping is the most visible and dangerous form of homelessness, but there are a wide range of situations that are also described as homelessness. This event idea is not to replicate homelessness but to raise awareness of some of the difficulties faced with not having a home. Someone sleeping outdoors will normally try to hide away as much as possible so that they can protect themselves and their few belongings. Over the years, St Petrocs outreach team has found people in all sorts of hidden away places, including tents in woods, garages, sheds, derelict buildings, even caves in cliffs! The pandemic has created a whole new layer of homelessness, and we’ve seen people being propelled into homelessness unexpectedly, with extreme and complex situations. The lives of people who are experiencing homelessness and forced to sleep rough will be at risk from the double threat of the cold weather and catching Covid-19 this winter.
