The number 12- just a number… Or is it? For me it has a deeper meaning
My story and Inspiration:
My Dad sadly passed away in December 2020. His favourite number was 12. It’s meaning behind it was the football team he supported. A place where we both shared some of our best memories together. Growing up we all had our own inspirations we looked up to. Whether that was Messi, Ronaldo or even Taylor Swift. But for me it was my Dad. He showed me that no matter what you are faced with in life there is a way through if you put your mind to it. Giving 110% was non-negotiable (even if that meant almost doing his back in just to beat a 7 year old at our nightly games of indoor football).
Current day:
Having completed Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth last September I was looking for a new challenge to test myself once again. I could do a full Ironman but was that enough? That’s when the idea of Project 12 for 12 came to mind. 12 gruelling challenges by the end of 2025 to raise £12,000 for charity. The challenges include a sub 12 hour Ironman, a 100k ultramarathon, riding across a whole island, as well as various others.
I will be raising the money for both Mind Mental Health Charity and FIG (a local charity who support children grieving the loss of loved ones). I aim to carry my Dad’s legacy and inspire the children, showing them that they are not alone in their battles, there is hope through the adversity.
I am going to be running multiple charity events across the summer that I will be announcing soon.
Any donations and shares to support these worthy causes would be greatly appreciated.
