We are reconstructing a working Neolithic settlement from the dawn of farming in our land. We will bring it to life with people, animals, crafts and crops. It will be a place where volunteers can become immersed in the details of life lived intimately with the land, where school children can experience a very different day out and engage intimately with the natural world.
Why they need our service
Opportunities to become immersed in our ancient heritage and the natural world all at once are limited in Britain. This is a wonderful chance to learn, be physically active and socialise at the same time. If people can develop a much deeper understanding of our roots they will have a deeper understanding of our place in the world and our ability to shape the futures we want.
Plan and expected results
Schools in Powys and beyond will have an educational resource on their doorstep. In the summer holidays tourists will be drawn into the area to the project - first of its kind in Britain.- boosting local trade . Exciting volunteering opportunities will enable many from marginalised backgrounds to take part in a community building project, living close to the land. in shared activity.
