P&P have set an exciting remote fitness challenge during the month of November to raise money our sponsored charity, the St Matthew’s Project in Brixton.

St Matthew’s Project

St Matthew’s Project provides a safe and encouraging environment where young people can come together and enjoy structured sports and learning opportunities, working through football, but offering much more. SMP provide food, emotional support, advocacy, a chance to gain qualifications, and counselling. They regularly engage with 200+ young people every week from across the Lambeth area, and recent programmes include:

• Fit 4 Life - mental wellbeing programme
• Choices - Knife crime programme for 9-11s
• Holiday football and free food programme
• Elders football - 18-25s (ex- and active gang members)

Your donation will go directly towards funding nutritious meals for their beneficiaries during the school holidays for the remainder of the year and into 2021. SMP has provided this for over 5 years as an integral of their offering for the families and young people they engage with. It will also go towards funding new long-lasting football kits and rainjackets for their teams this Winter. 

Our Challenge

Collectively, we aim to cross the Atlantic to the Empire State building in New York City by Monday 30th November – getting us all moving a distance of 3463 miles, or 5573km! We’ll achieve this through any exercise method we choose – this may be walking, running, cycling or swimming. We’ll be tracking our movements via the My Virtual Mission app, showing us our individual and collective progress as we go.

We’ll post regular updates on where we’ve reached each week and to keep things competitive, we’ll be dishing out some prizes for those who go the furthest.. Several of our partners are taking part, so keep an eye out for updates on their progress to see if any emerge as secret athletes!
