The Furzedown Project provides older people with opportunities to connect, contribute and be active – tackling isolation and improving well-being. They are a charity based in Wandsworth, led by their members and offering a vibrant activity and friendship hub.
The Project provides a lively programme of social, educational, recreational and health-promoting activities at our centre. Many are supported by their assisted transport service, to enable members with reduced mobility to attend.
They also offer a Befriending service that offers socialising through outreach programmes, to people who find it very difficult to get out of their own homes.
“The Furzedown Project is unbelievable. Just after my husband died, I was very lonely. Now I come to the Furzedown Project, meet new people and attend exercise therapy sessions, singing and art sessions. I get very emotional when I think about how much the Project has helped me.” Padminie
