In April 2020 our foodbank began directly from the kitchen of our Director and Founder Dr. Theo Gavrielides as a direct response to Covid-19’s effects on the communities in SE16. Since then it has grown into a weekly service running from our Community Centre in Rotherhithe every Monday from 10:00 am - 1pm, giving out the equivalent of 7011 meals to people in need thus far.  Together with your help we can tackle food poverty and insecurity in our community and provide people in need with healthy and nutritious food. 

One of our service users said this about our Food Bank: “The Foodbank has made a huge difference to me. It welcomes anyone in need, and provides staple foods which really help at a time when finding money for basic essentials is a struggle.” Alex - Lewisham, SE13 

Currently the child poverty rate is at 40% and families are feeling the additional strain of the cost of living crisis. We are here to support our community and do our best to ensure no one goes hungry if we can help it. 

After listening to the needs of our service users we plan to increase our non-perishable items. We expect that this will better serve our community by providing them with long lasting food.
