Deaf Access Bedfordshire is run by our Charity Manager Jo, who is supported by 3 Trustees, a Deaf Led Advisory board and some amazing volunteers. The small team coordinates a range of events and activities across Bedford Borough to improve access and inclusion for the D/deaf community. They hold regular activities such as Deaf fit club, BSL Cafe, Deaf space and Deaf Coffee Club, as well as providing BSL taster courses and Basic BSL & Deaf awareness sessions.
With 1 in 3 people experiencing hearing loss in the UK, Deaf Access Bedfordshire's mission is to raise awareness, and provide support, activities and training to prevent discrimination and isolation.
By sponsoring me and the team at this event, you are not only showing your support for our runners who are taking on this personal challenge, but you are also helping us to forge change through your generosity. By raising awareness and showing up for our deaf community, we can work together to make positive changes to our society. We hope you will join us in this mission!
