Growing up, I watched my dad experience redundancy more times than anyone should, then narrowly avoided it myself in 2020. Fast forward to 2024 and it happened for real. It took 5months to find a job I really didn't enjoy. 2025 was a rollercoaster, in professional development I sacrificed; health and relationship wise I'm reaping rewards.
The M3 Job club is more than a Charity, it's a Community. There is education, development, advise, reassurance, opportunity for support and for some, much needed structure. Some of my peers from 2024 are still out of work - some of us have been, or will be back again and some of us are now paying it forward.
Through the Trustee's practical and well managed programme, I found the support I needed and wish my dad had had, at multiple points in his career. Friday presentations, discussing a wide range of professional and personal, as well as technological developments comprise a learning & support cycle that lasts at least 16 weeks. As well as CV reviews, mock interviews and buddy schemes through Lenovo, locally.
I owe my current role to the connections I made there. I love my job, but Who am I if not my Job Title? Honestly, still adjusting and so be it. The Job Club is such a powerful resource for anyone trying to process, accept or bounce back from a career break +/ unavoidable change. Of course they've empowered me! I want the others to feel the same way!
The M3 Job Club shares my values and I'm so grateful to be representing them at the Empower Runway event. Is it scary to get on Stage in front of 100+ people? Yes, but it's the least I can do!
Thank you for reading & giving generously, it's so appreciated xx
