I am running the Reading Half Marathon on 2nd April to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, specifically the Reading and West Berkshire Branch MND Association.
This is a cause close to my heart as my mother passed away from MND in 2018 and the support from charities such as the MND associated during this time is incredibly important for individuals and families. MND is a grossly underfunded cause and I would like to give some support to families at what I know is an extremely challenging time.
The MND association are a membership organisation with over 10,000 members forming a powerful national and local network that provides information and support. They have over 7,000 active volunteers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and around 170 paid staff, all dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by MND, now and in the future.
