On Friday 20th May 2022 the Robert Walters Milton Keynes, St Albans and Walters People London offices will be climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Scotland and the British Isles in aid of Baby Basics MK
Baby Basics MK is a non-profit charity dedicated to supporting families living in Milton Keynes and the immediate surrounding area who are in financial hardship.
Our team work tirelessly with the community and local businesses to re-use excellent condition second hand and new items to create gift packages that give families everything they need to start life with a newborn baby or support families with children from 0-6 years. We work with professionals and numerous organisations to ensure the most vulnerable in our community have our support in their time of need (e.g. Midwives, Health Visitors, Children Centres, Social workers).
We offer a wide range of essential items, some examples are; clothing, toys, sleeping equipment, feeding equipment, toiletries and baby food/formula.
All families can experience times of difficulty. For some families, these times can be overcome by the support of friends, wider family and access to services. For others they see no way out of the situation and the weight of their problems cause them to feel:

- IsolatedA latest study completed by MK Community Foundation estimated (10,900) 17.7% of children are living in poverty, although some areas of Milton Keynes show child poverty rates as high as 32%.*
