About
As most of you will know the Rock Foundation who provide a Food bank for the most vulnerable have been broken into again yesterday. It would be amazing if as a community we could replenish the food stolen to help the most needy and vulnerable in the area. Let’s show we are a united community who care.

A Grimsby food bank that helps up to 100 people a day has been ransacked by thieves described as the "lowest of the low".The Rock Foundation Food Bank, based in the former Holme Hill School on Wellington Street, was broken into in the early hours of Sunday by thieves who stole everything from food and clothing to children's toys and presents.
They "completely ransacked" the building looking for valuable items, then committed "the most disgusting act of all" by defecating in the middle of the floor. The thieves broke into the building by smashing through the window of a fire escape that leads out to Heneage Road. They then went methodically around the building, searching through filing cabinets and cupboards to find valuable goods. It is not yet known how much has been stolen, but it is believed that the only items that have been taken are ones that were valuable enough to be sold on, such as certain types of food, children's toys and coffee. The break-in is believed to have taken place sometime before 4.30am, and it is thought that the thieves may have spent hours inside the building stealing items. It is the second time in three months that the food bank has been broken into, with the last taking place in March, when thieves turned off all of the freezers inside the building, causing all the food to go off..
As a food bank we are helping up to 100 people  a day in Grimsby, and we have such a wide mix of people that come and use our services, from young families, asylum seekers, elderly people, those who have just signed up to universal credit and even struggling professionals.
