March 28th 2024 my brother, Callum Clement, at 27, took his own life by jumping off George Street Bridge into the River Usk, Newport. Due to the nature of this we have yet to recover him. In his life Callum did suffer from mental health. As a family we wanted to try and do something in his memory. My youngest brother found the charity, Men’s Minds Matter and after reading more about them and what they do, we all agreed it was the right charity to support and raise money for. Men’s Minds Matter aim to tackle male suicide (both intervention and prevention) and also aim to tackle men’s mental health.
So, on April 13th 2025 myself, my wife (Kelsey Clement), my youngest brother, (Llywelyn Clement) our four cousins (Rhian Short, Gethin Short, Garyn Cooper and Jai Cooper) with partner (Rowen Andrews) and uncle (Gary Cooper) will be running the Newport Half-Marathon, and we would all love to raise as much money as possible for this much needed charity. We are running for Callum and his memory, and in the process we hope to help those who need it.
