I lost my twin brother Chris to suicide last year

Its become something of a cliche, "He was the life and soul of the party", "He was always so happy", "I had no idea". And I think that's because men are slow to evolve.

In history, even recent history the role of the man was to kill predators and bring home food. More recently, that masculinity has become redundant and even toxic but we are slow to evolve.

Many men still inherit some of those traits that had value many years ago and feel like they need to be strong and successful and never show weakness or ask for help. Even men who don't show that outdated masculinity in their behavior still have the legacy of it in their soul.

They say men only think about one thing and are children at heart and maybe happy men are and unhappy ones try to appear that way to hide that they are struggling and their one thought is a fear of failure.

I think that is the position Chris found himself in and instead of reaching out for the help of his loving family, he continued to look for others he could help and would not allow anybody to help him.

We lost him on 1st May last year when he was just 48 years old.
