This fund is administered by support staff at Displaced People in Action on an as-needed basis.

Why they need our service

The St David's Uniting Church fund was initiated by a donation from the congregants of St David's Uniting Church in Pontypridd. With this fund we are able to provide small grants to refugees and asylum seekers to fund education and wellbeing-related costs. This fund is especially useful for asylum seekers who otherwise have no recourse to public funding and are facing hardship and even destitution.

Plan and expected results

In the past year we have been able to support 14 individuals and 1 group to access education and health-related activities and appointments. We would love to be able to support more sanctuary seekers but the size of the fund precludes us from being able to do so. With more funding, we could support more applicants.
