Once again I will be donning my Lycra in a bid to raise some serious funds for a Charity that does good in my local community (and adopted home) of Aberdeen. Along with 60 of my colleagues I will be cycling almost 300 miles from Dumbarton on Scotlands West Coast back to Aberdeen over 3 consecutive days to raise money for Murtle Market by Camphill School Aberdeen (CSA).
Check out the YouTube video that I have linked to this page which shares some of the details about the amazing work that the CSA charity do, and what they hope to achieve with the fundrasing money from C2C16.
Murtle Market is a Social Enterprise which aims to become transformational to the circular and sustainable local economy in the west of Aberdeen City. The Market will sell local produce and provide refilling schemes for dried goods, cleaning products and zero waste ranges.
Most importantly the enterprise expands the learning opportunities provided to the children and young people attending CSA who will be involved in growing, harvesting and crafting the products to be sold in the market, as well as assisting in stocking and staffing of the Market.
I am fundraising in an effort to help this project alleviate staffing costs for the year ahead. This is vital so as the project has a fighting chance to be able to embed in the local community, bringing many learning opportunities for students and delivering on its promise to the community
