My Sister Sarah and I are taking part in this years' Tough Mudder, to raise money for Baby 2 Baby, an East Sussex charity with the primary aim of supporting local families in need through gifting them with new and used baby clothes and items from nappies, wipes and baby grows, to pushchairs, car seats and cots.
There are many reasons that can cause financial hardship, from redundancy to illness.
10 years ago, aged just 31, my husband Charlie suddenly fell very ill and was unable to work for 2 years. A few months after his return to work, Charlie was advised by his company GP that he should give up work altogether.
Our children were extremely young and this was a very dark concerning time for us. All I wanted to focus on was getting my husband better, and looking after my children, but unfortunately, lack of money was also a huge factor in my day to day worries.
Thankfully, 10 years on and with the wonder of medication, Charlie is back at work and loving life!!
None of us ever think these things will happen to us, hence this is something very close to my heart.
I love the idea of supporting a charity that directly supports our local community and am really grateful to Cranwell Wealth Solutions for agreeing to sponsor us.
Uckfield based financial planners Cranwell Wealth Solutions already gets involved with the local community, so were more than happy to sponsor Sarah and I to do the Tough Mudder, enabling them to give even more back.
