On the 12th September I am aiming to run a 298k ultramarathon along the Thames Path.
Men’s Minds Matter is a UK-based organisation focused on preventing male suicide through psychological intervention.
Founded in 2011 by Dr. Luke Sullivan, a clinical psychologist, MMM is built around a crisis intervention model that supports men when they feel there’s no way out. Many men in distress don’t reach out which is where MMM step in.
They specialise in developing and delivering psychological interventions for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, while also advocating for and raising awareness about male suicide. The direct psychological support is aimed to help those who can’t access traditional services due to wait times, stigma, or simply being unable to leave the house.
Current fundraising supports:
Training for psychologists and suicide intervention specialists.
Campaigns to spread awareness and equip people with tools to help themselves and others.
Workshops for communities and corporates.
Development of a life-saving app for men in crisis.
Life-saving sessions with a psychologist (£2000 funds 8 sessions).
Around 94% of the men who are provided help are already in crisis. Of these people over 90% of them use exercise as a tool to aid their recovery.
Many men go through the same journey but experience different emotions that lead them to a crisis point. It’s important we support those around us and look after ourselves.

The course will start at the source of the river in Gloucestershire and ends at the Thames Barrier in Woolwich. Im training hard, but this challenge is undoubtably going to test me mentally and physically. The aim is to complete this within 48 hours alongside a full support team.
