All I wanted for my birthday was to get all my friends and family together. That’s happening so that’s me Happy. I’ve been told by Nic that friends are asking what to buy me for pressies. Your all to kind but what i’d really like to happen is for us all to make a difference to someone less fortunate than me at this time.
Our mates at The Riff Raff Society are helping out a lady called Barbara Mason in Irlam Manchester. About 5 years ago this beautiful, fit and healthy young woman went to hospital to have her baby (Lawrence). The baby boy was born fit & healthy but in childbirth Barbara suffered a brain injury that has left her unable to control her body from the neck down. The very same day the child’s father left her and turned his back on child and mother leaving Barbara’s mum and dad to care for Barbara & raise the child. They are amazing people.
Unfortunately the NHS hasn’t really offered any path to a cure or even any small improvement in bab’s life. She can’t interact with her son. She is a prisoner in her own body.
The family have finally found a doctor that is willing to try and make the positive impact that they all crave so much. Stem cell treatment won’t cure her completely but it could make a significant difference to her ability to get some quality of life.
Together with the Riff Raff Society The family are looking to raise £26,000 to get Bab’s to Russia for stem cell treatment
So instead of a bottle of plonk for Gaz please make a donation for Bab’s i’d be really chuffed if we could make a difference
Many thanks
