Thank you for looking at my fund raising page and considering sponsoring me for the Mardi Himal Nepal Base Camp Trek Challenge for Faith in Families. This Swansea and Brecon based charity supports children and familes facing a range of significant life difficulties, some of which are the result of poverty. In Wales, 34% of children live in poverty, and in Swansea this represents >24,000 children living in need. Faith in Families projects include: three community centres or cwtches in Swansea and the St John's wellbeing centre in Brecon which provide a wide range of children's and family services; the Brighter Futures project for children and young people to overcome anxiety, attachment problems, difficult family relationships and poor self-esteem; the Inspiring Futures Project to support young women develop life and work skills.

In November 2023 I completed the Wadi Rum Desert Trek Challenge for this amazing charity. I now have the opportunity to set my aim a little higher, in fact much higher - the Himalayas. The challenge will involve significant ascent, decent and effort but I hope it will also bring joy and laughter. I will be joined by my daughter Hermione (who has her own giving page) making this a truly precious trip.
