We will be walking 8 miles on the 14th September raising money for:
🌻Families In Grief
🌻The Wave Project
I am reaching out because I’m supporting a cause that’s close to my heart.
Our daughter Amelia was tragically taken from us when she was just two years old. Amelia gave us more happiness and laughter in that short time than in any other times of our lives.
A bubbly, happy, kind, energetic, cheeky adorable character she was becoming, who made our lives complete.
Always looking for our approval and response to new words she had learned, her drive for any kind of learning was accelerating.
We had everything to look forward to with her in our lives, she met her baby brother for just a week and was a loving proud big sister, always wanting to hold him saying ‘my hold’
Amelia was the first person to call us mummy and daddy and we couldn’t have been more proud. Amelia’s little brother Henry is now 4 years old and gives us a purpose we thought we no longer had. We will do everything we can to support him through life and remembering his big sister who was one of the first people to hold him after he was born.
I have huge respect and admiration for the work that these two local charities do to support children and their families.
Helping grieving children is crucial, grief can significantly impact their emotional, mental, and physical well-being. Untreated grief can lead to long-term mental health issues, while providing support helps them develop healthy coping mechanisms and build resilience.
Helping a bereaved child build resilience is especially important. While you can't take away their sadness, you can support them to feel good about themselves and find ways to manage any worries and uncertainties.
