A warm bed is just the beginning — our goal is longer-term stability.

From 20 January 2026, Sutton Winter Night Shelter is running for eight weeks. For the fourth time, people experiencing homelessness in our community are being welcomed into local churches overnight, where they are met with care, kindness and respect, a hot meal and a safe place to rest.

Alongside this immediate support from volunteers, our main aim is to help guests move on to stable, longer-term accommodation. Specialist staff work closely with each person to address the barriers they face and support them towards safer, more secure living arrangements.

For this project we work closely with Sutton Council, who contribute towards the core costs. However, additional funds are still needed to run the shelter and provide the practical support that helps people move forward.

Whatever you are able to give, your donation will help people experiencing homelessness find care, dignity and a pathway towards greater stability.

If we raise more than is needed for the Winter Night Shelter, any additional funds will support our Sutton Street Pastors, who work with rough sleepers throughout the year in the London Borough of Sutton.

Know someone experiencing homelessness in Sutton who might benefit from the shelter? Please encourage them to contact Sutton Council Housing Advice Team.
