Research shows that the early years are the most effective way to improve the life chances of children in disadvantaged communities. Children's food preferences and eating habits are formed early in life so our free nutritious meals can be critical for health and development.
However, the statutory free school meals scheme does not apply to pre-school children. As students from University of Bath, we help fundraising and raising awareness. Moreover, with donation, we are able to ensure that young children, from disadvantage families, eat at least one good meal a day. This ables to helps them to benefit most from learning and development opportunities in the nursery.
Additionally, this project also helps families on low incomes to provide a nutritionally balanced diet for their children, introduces children to a broad range of meals and helps to develop healthy eating habits.
