Veronica is going to undertake a 5km sponsored bike ride on her new Roam Twin Rider Bike (with Dad tagging along to provide moral support and every now and then contribute to the pedalling part of the operation), using the New Malden to Raynes Park cycle track, to raise funds for Yorda Adventures
Yorda Adventures is a Kingston based organisation that enriches the lives of severely learning disabled children like Veronica, and their families like us, providing playschemes and short breaks.
Their playworkers’ engagement with, interest in and commitment to the children they work with puts Yorda in a completely different league to any other playschemes in our (quite wide) experience. There has been remarkable stability within the team, and the same playworkers at Yorda have been seeing Veronica coming back again and again over the last eight years, seeing her growing up and celebrating her achievements.
