Children’s World is an incredible charity founded in 1981 to provide educational, social and emotional benefits to all children, in an inclusive way. Children’s World has developed loads of ways to teach children and to change attitudes, through drama, music, video – and always through fun! They do incredible work in the UK and internationally, and have been hit like so many smaller charities by the coronavirus crisis.
I had Covid-19 about a year ago and although I was nowhere near hospitalisation, post-viral / post-covid dative really knocked me for six. Before covid I had been training for a marathon. After covid I tried to push myself too hard too soon and ended up very poorly, unable to run for several long months. My ultimate goal is to run an ultramarathon for Children’s World next year (2022) but to get there I need some goals and to build my fitness slowly and sensibly (not my favourite approach!). So I’ve been training for my first milestone back in the game: the Virtual Bath Half marathon to be completed 13-14 March. I’m hoping to do it in one go but we’re allowed to split it over two days - so that seemed like a good “sensible” race to aim for first!
