On Thursday 20th June we're asking you to wear stripes - whether socks, a top, stripey trousers, or an accessory - and donate to help us to help a family in need. Stripey Stork are a baby bank who take donations of new and pre-loved items for babies and children and pass them on to families experiencing hardship across East Surrey. We take referrals from local professionals working with families, and our aim this year is to respond to 2500 requests.
How the funding will be spent
We want to build up a fund to buy the items we like to include in all of our clothing packs. More often than not we need to buy new pants, socks and nightwear for the clothing packs for older children. Clean, new items for boys and girls aged 2-13 years. Having the funds to purchase new underwear, socks and nightwear enables us to complete our packs of wonderful donated clothing from you, our supporters.
How this will benefit the community
We want the clothing packs we pass on to be as complete as possible. They may be going to a family who have recently arrived at our local refuge wearing only the clothes on their back. Whatever the reason they have been referred to us, they are vulnerable and need help to change their situation, get back on their feet and break out of this poverty cycle. Please help us to help them.
