Myself and Sam tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge last year and we couldn’t get enough! So this year we have decided to do it again whilst raising money for ‘Leeds Community Healthcare’ which are an Organisation who fund teams such as the ‘Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team’.
On March 15th 2021 I, like most people across the world attended my local GP and got the Astra Zenica vaccine. Unfortunately a few weeks later, I suffered a Vaccine Immune Thrombosis and Thrombocytopenia (blood clot and a bleed on the brain). I was admitted to Leeds General Infirmary for 3 weeks where the staff there provided outstanding care which I will be forever grateful for. I was discharged from hospital on May 7th 2021 into the care of my local Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team who have since provided support offering Speech Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Psychological Therapy and a Dietitian. This support all provides a massive contribution working towards my physical and mental rehabilitation. Helping me to get back fit and healthy to resume my life as I once knew it. So just 4 months later I will be tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge along with the support of a close friend Sam.
The Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team not only help support me but thousands of other people who have suffered Strokes or similar injuries. They are made up of fantastic, talented and devoted specialists who provide outstanding and unforgettable support. To help support this wonderful team please donate and together we can make a massive difference.
We thank you in advance for your support and we will be sure to keep you updated as we go!
