It hasn't been an easy year for young trans and non-binary people. It's time to create some positivity, and you can be a part of it. Any donation you can make, no matter how small, will make a huge difference to the experience we can offer young people at our summer camps this year.

Each year, our residential camping trips help trans young people escape their everyday realities of misunderstanding, bullying and isolation, and provide an experience where young trans and gender diverse people are free to be themselves. For many, it is the only chance they have to take part in fun outdoor activities in a safe and affirmative space.

Our camps are free for our young people to attend, but it costs us £350 for each space we can offer. If you can, please give a gift today, and help ensure that our 2024 camps are a huge success!

“Camp changed my life. I met so many amazing people. I realized that there are people out there who really care and that there are trans safe spaces where I can meet people who are just like me, that I don't need to be ashamed."

Why Camp?

We know through our extensive experience that attending the camping trip can make a massive difference to a young person's life.

Because less than 1% of the UK population is transgender, we are thinly spread across the country. Many young trans people don’t know someone else like themselves in their school or their community. As a result, they often feel isolated, ostracised, lonely and have no-one to talk to who understands how they feel.

That is why, for the last 15 years, we have been bringing trans people, especially young people together at youth groups, events, residentials and summer camps. Our camps provide time and space for young people to develop friendships in a way that they don’t have the opportunity to do elsewhere, with activities such as raft building, climbing, and cooking together which quickly break down barriers and create connections.

“I decided to go back to college after being inspired by other campers …The confidence that camp gave me was massive & it showed me a totally different perspective on how life could be. I am excited to get back into education and although I'm very nervous I hope the skills and strength I gained at camp to help me cope with the challenges”

In 2023, in addition to our large summer camps, we also ran two smaller residentials - one for young transfemme people and one for young people of colour. This year we're bringing all our residentials back again, but we need your support to help make them happen.

Any funds we don't use for our 2024 Camps will be ringfenced and used for future residentials and our wider work supporting trans young people and their families.
