We are gathering memories about the toposcope from local people who remember the original. We have received a generous donation towards this restoration and are in the process of having the cost estimated. Sefton Library Service have also kindly agreed to let us use a photo from their archives to assist in this project.
Why they need our serviceA main feature of Adelaide Garden was its Toposcope. It consisted of a bronze plate mounted on a baluster. The plate was engraved with the directions and distances of various places. Sadly, it was wrecked by vandals in August 1975. We would like to return this feature to the Garden.
Plan and expected resultsAn original feature will be returned to Adelaide Garden.
