
The fundamental aims of MK - African Community School are:- Promoting academic achievements of African ethnic minority children in mainstream schools in Milton Keynes;- Developing the ethnic minority children's cultural identity, self-esteem, confidence and sense of belonging in both school environments and their local communities in Milton Keynes
Why they need our serviceSome of the main objectives of the supplementary school are: - To raise levels of academic achievements in National Curriculum subjects (English, Mathematics and Science) among African ethnic minority children in hard to reach communities in Milton Keynes through provision of after school and weekend tuition.- To offer complementary educational advice outside of mainstream schools in Milton Keynes in order to optimise parents' participation in the education of their children.
Plan and expected resultsBetter attainment records for children primarily from African Heritage but not exclusively-Appropriate placement of learners according to need-Increased cooperation between school and parents for the benefit of learners-Increase in student self esteem and cooperation with the school and community-Development of a sense of responsibility among learners.
