Hi to anyone who's reading this is Aiyana and I'm 10 years old. I'm doing the junior Leeds ITU World Triathlon on 9th June to raise money for Sunshine and Smiles. The triathlon includes a 200m swim in Roundhay Lake, a 5km bike ride through the park and a 2km run around Roundhay Park. It would be amazing if you could show your support by donating just £2 .
What is Sunshine and Smiles?
Sunshine and Smiles is a small, Leeds based charity who support children and young people with Down Syndrome. They do groups such as swimming, dancing and speech and language therapy, they also do general playgroups for babies with Down Syndrome aged 0-3. Along with 9+ groups where they do climbing, cooking, dancing, singing and acting.
What is Down Syndrome?
Down Syndrome is a genetic condition where people who have it are affected in their learning, walking and talking. My little sister, Thalia has Down Syndrome and my mum is the manager of Sunshine and Smiles. Sometimes, people with Down Syndrome get frustrated and can't share their feelings with other people. It's really important to support people with Down Syndrome and their achievements.
