TIME: 6.30am
PLACE: i360 Brighton
DATE: SATURDAY 17TH AUGUST 2019

When the charity team asked if anyone wanted to abseil down the i360 I thought, why not! First of all, I have never abseiled before and I really hate heights, so this will be quite a big challenge for me. I always want to help and support others and felt this was not only a personal challenge for myself but a great way to give back to such a fantastic cause.

Chosen Charity:
Survivors' Network is a charity that helps to empower women and to provide dedicated support to those who have suffered from sexual abuse and violence.
Their services span from a drop-in centre in Brighton, through to counselling services and workshops. This is what the Survivors' Network stands for:

Activism - Survivor Centred - Feminism - Empowerment  - Commitment to Equality

Quite simply, this charity evoked such raw emotion within me and I was so moved by the great work this charity does on a daily basis, that I needed to support them.

For me, this event is about facing fears and setting out to conquer no matter what life throws at you.

This charity keeps going because of donations like mine, so it's crucial that these events happen so people have a branch to reach out to in times of need.
