I first heard about The Vine Centre at a business networking meeting. I then had a chance to visit the centre and and get a feel for the place and felt compelled to help. The Vine Centre fills a void in our Social System by offering a place to sleep and eat, a place to be accepted, a place to learn new skills and a place of hope and ultimately change. The Vine Centre exists to help change the lives of the most disadvantaged members of our community in North East Hampshire. Motivated by a profound desire to provide purposeful services to ease poverty, we provide daily care and offer a range of potentially life-changing opportunities to homeless and vulnerable adults, many of whom have complex multiple needs. We offer twenty frontline services, delivered Monday to Friday, addressing both the immediate physical and mental needs of our clients as well as a number of their longer term needs. Starting as a soup Kitchen in 1988 The Vine Centre became a registered charity in 2003. The charity recognised it was necessary to make a gradual transition to service provider six years ago. At that time, it was realised that clients needed pro-active intervention to help them access the services of agencies and professional support to face their daily challenges and barriers.
