A last minute plug for the incredible Cardiff-based charity: The Birth Partner Project.
The women connected with the project don’t yet have support networks around them in Cardiff and would otherwise be giving birth alone.
A team of volunteers is put together for each woman, to support her towards the end of her pregnancy, during labour, and up to 8 weeks postnatally. This support looks different for each mum and is decided with her, to take into account her cultural and language needs and birth preferences.
I’ve been volunteering with them for just over a year and it’s been a privilege to be on a team for 4 women. Have a read some more about the Birth Partner Project through the link.
Not quite sure how I’ve ended up in a marathon. I’ll take all the bonne chance you can offer, and any donations too.
