I am running Lisburn Half Marathon to raise funds for Alliance For Choice, because I believe that every woman in Northern Ireland should have access to free, safe, and legal abortion.
Alliance For Choice campaign and advocate for women's reproductive rights in the North of Ireland, regularly leading campaigns, educating people and lobbying politicians in Stormont and Westminister. The charity is run on a shoestring budget yet the people involved give their heart and soul to this campaign to give women their basic human rights here in the North of Ireland.
Running a half marathon is the least I can do considering the struggle women go through to access reproductive health care at times of need, or considering the passionate energy the team at A4C put into their campaigns.
You'll all know someone who has had an abortion, or a man who has benefited from a woman having an abortion. This is a subject that affects everyone.
The North is Next.
