Team Fundraisers
We are mother and daughter who, on 16th September will be running to raise funds for this fantastic charity.
I will be completing the 10km course and Emilia, 7, is running a 'half marathon'. She will complete 12 miles prior to the 16th and run the final mile on Race Day.
Stripey Stork supports children and parents experiencing hardship. It collects donations of baby equipment, clothes and toys and each item is passed to someone who specifically needs it. The charity works in partnership with support services such as children’s centres, health visitors and social service agencies.
I have done a fair amount of volunteering for Stripey Stork so I know first hand that not a penny of any donation will be wasted. Here's an extract from their website:
"In terms of fundraising - our aim is to provide a brand new, clean mattress with every moses basket, travel cot, cot or cot bed we pass on. We regularly hear stories of mums and babies co-sleeping through necessity not choice, or of children sleeping on folded up towels or quilts in cots because they don’t have a mattress. We all know how important it is to have a safe place for our babies to sleep so being able to provide these important extras will make such a difference."
We will do our utmost to complete the courses with a smile and do justice to any contributions made on our behalf for Stripey Stork. Thank you for your support!
